More Emergency Rental Assistance Program Funds Awarded

         Emergency Rental Assistance Program Grant

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development recently awarded   Wicomico County an additional $5.5 million to continue the Wicomico County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), bringing the total amount of assistance provided to Wicomico County citizens to $12,880,680.

Wicomico County has assisted more than 1,400 household avoid eviction, providing more than $5.5 million in direct assistance from the program start in June 2021 through October 2021.

This award will provide funding for up to 15 months of rental, utility and housing stability assistance, along with funding for Maryland Legal Aid for renters in need of legal services and assistance.

Continuing in partnership with Wicomico County for the ERAP program are Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc., Shore Up, Inc., and Maryland Legal Aid.
